Fox Valley School Drama Production a Resounding Success

On Tuesday, June 7th, Fox Valley School performed Tim Kelly's "Help! I'm Trapped in a High School" in the Fox Valley Community Hall. The actors and actresses had the audience laughing from start to finish. From the custodian with multiple personalities, Mrs. Tadpole (Sara McLean), to the raving lunatic principal Mr. Bronco Ranchwear (Ethan Wiggins), the cast was superb. Victoria Muhlbeier, Shayla Napper, and Alyssa Lerner as Eveline Culpepper the secretary, Mrs. Beaumont, and Fabiola Buena Vista were very businesslike in their undercover investigation of the principal's misdeeds. Valley girls Sally Armstrong (Miranda Ries), Gwen Dawson (Sydney Kosolofski), and Betty Diluth (Cheyenne Schneider) along with their friend Douglas Alexander (David Anderst) ended up in the Public School Maximum Security, or "Last Chance High", as the result of a computer error. They had difficulty fitting in with the hardened students, Agnes Rasputin (Dakota McEwen), Anzac Caligary (Sara McLean), Jaws (Shannon Bakanec), No Name (Derry Schneider), Thelma Bayswater (Emily Tremblay), and Queenie Tupperware (Montana Schneider). In the meantime, intern teachers Nina Nolan (Jade Greenwald) and Lydia Colgate (Kortney Jacksteit) met the teacher BeBe Elliot (Sydney Kosolofski) and found out that she knows nothing about teaching. Betty tried to phone her "mumsy", Monica Diluth (Alyssa Brown), and got frustrated trying to explain what she wanted to the clueless maid Isador (Raeann Neitz). The students decided to break out, but were caught by the security guard (Shayla Grant) so they sent out S.O.S. messages in balloons. The school psychiatrist Sigmunda Fraud (Jaymee Hitchen) was quite insane herself and kept swatting at imaginary bugs while trying to help those who she thought were insane. Mr. Bronco Ranchwear was finally caught making a deal to sell scotch tape from the school supplies to Bramwell Fishtank (Alyssa Brown), and a Scout (Jaymee Hitchen) found a balloon with the message from the students. The bag lady (Rebecca Koch) with her grocery cart, strange hats, and cat provided a lot of laughs especially when she ended up as the new cafeteria staff and continued to serve spaghetti soup and licorice Jell-O. Dessert was served at intermission (but it wasn't licorice Jell-O).
A bake sale was held by the SRC at the drama production. Proceeds went to the earthquake victims in Japan. The SRC matched the proceeds twice, once for the Slave Lake disaster and the other for the residents of Wollaston Lake.
